Drop Shot Rig This is one of the most popular and effective methods for the Uni, allowing it to hover and dance subtly off the bottom in deeper water or around structure. Nose-hook the bait through the solid central body with a #1 or #2 octopus hook, tied 12-24 inches above a drop shot weight (1/8 to 3/8 oz depending on depth and current). Shake the rod tip gently to make the appendages pulsate without moving the weight much.
Free Rig For a more mobile bottom presentation, thread the Uni onto a free rig sinker setup or punch rig. Hook it Texas-style through the nose for weedless protection, allowing the weight to slide freely for natural movement over rocks or sparse cover.
