Description
The DaHo Reverse Latch Threading Needle was developed in collaboration with Jerry Brown, a pioneer in hollow spectra fishing line technology. Unlike traditional latch needles adapted from fabric knitting machines — which must be pushed into hollow spectra and often damage the line’s fibers when the latch opens — the DaHo Reverse Latch Needle is designed to be pulled through the line, keeping the latch closed by the line’s internal pressure. This is the only tool on the market that uses the latch mechanism as it was originally designed to function.
The reverse latch design also allows the latch to open and release the held line when needed — a critical capability for loop creation and splicing techniques where a line must be released by the tool while threaded through another line. Standard loop splicing needles cannot do this. Attached to DaHo’s standard 6″ needle body, the Reverse Latch Needle also allows longer loops and splices than the old short latch needles permitted.
Key Features
- Pull-through latch design — latch stays closed under line pressure, protecting hollow spectra fibers
- Releasable latch — opens to release held line mid-splice when needed
- 6″ needle body — enables longer loops and splices than traditional latch needles
- Latch is always the trailing end — correct orientation for pull-through use
- 3 sizes available — Small, Medium, and Large covering 60# to 300# spectra
- Sold individually
